| | | The second Ford "World Car" the "Focus" also uses the 2.0L CVH/SPI SOHC engine and the 2.0L Zetec DOHC as an option. The Zetec is the standard engine in the ZX3, ZX5, ZTS, and ZTW. braking. The Ford Focus 2.0L SPI is the base engine. Ford has brought out a new version called the PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) starting in California and New York in 2003. The rest of the country gets this engine in the 2004 model year as an option. It has the 2.3L Duratec DOHC 4 cylinder engine rated at 145 horsepower and is available with either an automatic or manual transmission. In 2005 The PZEV displacement drops to 2.0L and the 2.3L will get power upgrades but lose the PZEV
